In their annual season-finale clash, Katy defeated Cinco Ranch 38-7 on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Rhodes Stadium.
The Cougar defense held up in the first quarter allowing zero points, but were exposed in the second quarter, allowing 28 points on four straight Katy drives.
The name of the game was rushing, with Katy running 390 yards on 49 attempts, as opposed to Cinco Ranch’s -17 yards on 29 attempts, their lowest rushing yards total of the season.
However, Cinco Ranch’s pass game out-threw the Tigers by 124 yards and a full 27 completion percentage points.
With the regular season over, both teams look ahead to their respective 5A bi-district playoff game. The Cougars were seeded in the division-1 bracket.
Cinco Ranch (8-2) will take on Bellaire (7-3) on Saturday, Nov. 12 at Tully Stadium, while Katy (10-0) prepares for its game against Madison on Friday, Nov. 12 at Butler Stadium. Both kickoff times are set for 7 p.m.
