Girls varsity golf team advanced to state with a two-day team score of 662 in the Region III-5A Golf Tournament at Eagle Pointe Golf Club on Monday-Tuesday, April 18-19.
The team placed second behind Clear Lake, who shot a 643 for the tournament.
The second place finish was a team effort, capped off by yet another individual first place win by junior Abby Newton (77-71). Other scores were junior Megan Webster (84-85), freshman Kennedy Ishee (82-89), junior Kirsten Hensley (90-87), and junior Morgan Galloway (87-98).
The girls will compete at State Thursday-Friday, May 12-13, at Austin’s Jimmy Clay Golf Course.
