On September 28th, a heart wrenching incident left Cinco Ranch High School and its community in shock. 14 Year-old Freshman Football player, Logan Dark tragically lost his life while riding his bike to school. The entire community came together to mourn the loss of this young life and show their unwavering support for the Dark family.

On that fateful morning, as Logan made his way to school, he was involved in a devastating accident with a car. The news spread quickly, leaving students, teachers, and parents devastated by the sudden loss of a vibrant and promising young soul.

“The sudden loss of Logan left all of us trying to figure out how to move forward, students and the school all came together in the face of this tragedy trying to figure out what honoring a legacy looks like versus going to far and making the loss worse for those most affected”. Freshman Cheerleading Coach Jessica Bagadion said.

In the wake of this tragedy, the Cinco Ranch High School community demonstrated their incredible strength and compassion. The school organized a special tribute to Logan at the football game, where everyone wore green, symbolizing pedestrian safety. Additionally, Logan’s #80 jersey was prominently displayed as a poignant tribute to his memory.

“I have seen his classmates come together wearing green ribbons as well as his number. The football team all have his initials on their helmet and in my own class we placed a sticker on his desk and decorated it with ribbons.” Coach Bagadion said.

The outpouring of support from the community has been overwhelming. “It’s been hard for the young students to reconcile the concept of mortality with their young age but in honoring his memory it has brought them peace and a certain closure”. Coach Bagadion said.
