A fire drill during 7th period on Feb. 21 interrupted a test covering Shakespeare’s play Taming of the Shrew. AP Literature teacher Susan Shank’s class decided to continue their 70 question test and essay in the parking lot.
Acording to Shank, the students did not want to leave the room, so she allowed them to work on the test outside if they did not talk to each other.
“It was possibly one of the hardest tests of the year and we freaked out when the fire alarm went off because we didn’t want to lose any time,” senior Jenny Van Overdam said. “Looking back it was pretty funny.”
During the fire drill, the choir program also continued their rehearsals outside.
“Where else can you go and [find] kids [who] are so concerned about their grades [that] they don’t want to take a break for a fire drill?” Shank said.
