Playing For Keeps– From the director of The Pursuit of Happiness and Seven Pounds, Playing for Keeps stars Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Uma Thurman and Dennis Quaid. Not your traditional romantic comedy, the plot follows a former soccer star that has lost his job and fame. As realizes how to deal with his life without soccer, he strengthens his relationship with his son, and in the process causes chaos all around him. Released December 7th, “Playing For Keeps” is already pulling a few heartstrings.
Les Miserables– The motion picture adaptation of this classic novel stars Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, and Amanda Seyfried . The musical follows the story of ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, who after breaking parole has been hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert. When Valjean agrees to take care of a factory worker’s daughter, named Cosette, their lives will forever be altered. The modern adaptation is sung only in playback and is not recorded in a studio, which is expected to give a rawer feel. This movie is set to release on Christmas Day and draw large audiences.
The Hobbit– Set 60 years before ‘The Lord of The Rings’ trilogy, this long awaited prequel follows the journey of Bilbo Baggins, an ordinary hobbit. Baggins and thirteen dwarves are recruited by the wizard Gandalf the Grey for a quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the dragon Smaug . On his journey, Baggins meets Gollum. In his days alone with Gollum, Baggins gains possession of Gollum’s “precious”-a simple gold ring. What Baggins does not know is that the ring is tied to the fate of all Middle-Earth. “The Hobbit” will be released Dec. 14th.
