Groundbreaking for new KISD stadium starts today

Groundbreaking for the new stadium is scheduled for today at 8:30 in the morning.  The $58 million stadium is supposed to help with the crowded schedule at Rhodes.

Plans show that it is much bigger than Rhodes and is slated to seat 12,000 people, which is 2,000 more than the current stadiums. It will contain a two-story press box, training rooms and a 12,000 square feet area for police and paramedics. The second floor is left open for expansion and will also have space for a football hall of fame.
The stadium is part of a bond package that passed in November of 2014.
