Student artists share inspiration, details of artwork
Grace Jung
What is your favorite medium?
Ink.
What is your favorite work?
I don’t know. There’s..there’s a lot of things, but my mind is really bad. My mind is empty like I have a bad memory. So it’s memorable, but I only remember the feelings, not the actual piece.
What is your inspiration behind your work?
The things I observe in real life. The things I think about.
What do you want to portray to the audience?
Well, that’s the thing. I want them to see and then know that there’s something that’s not just done purely for the [visual aspect]. I mean there are some things I like to do purely for the visual aspect. But other times, [I like] to be able to hide things in plain sight. To make the audience wonder but not know why I did what I did.
Jane Wong

I like Acrylic paint.
What is your inspiration behind this piece?
I went to California and saw the Golden Gate Bridge but it was covered with smog. It made me really sad that such a pretty view was ruined by human pollution.
What do you want to portray to the audience?
I want to show that we can still work to preserve the environment.
How long did you spend on this artwork?
Two to three days.
