The CRHS defense forced three turnovers while special teams blocked a punt and returned a kick-off 73 yards helping the Cougars claim a Region III title with a 34-17 win over Cy-Ridge Saturday at TDECU Stadium.

While the defense stymied a talented Ram offense holding them to 199 yards for the game, the Cougar offense was lead by junior Brant Kuithe who rushed for 119 yards and two TDs. Senior WR Greg Williams added two TDs of his own with a 19-yard dash in the 2nd quarter followed by a 49-yard TD catch just before halftime.

QB James Klingler completed 14 of 27 for 174 yards while setting a new school passing yardage record.

With the Region III crown, Cinco Ranch ties its deepest run in the playoffs by heading to San Antonio’s Alamodome for round five of the playoffs in the State semi-final game against Cibolo Steele Saturday night at 6 p.m.
