Track, Field vaults over District Meet with two district champs

The Cinco Ranch boys’ and girls’ Track & Field teams wrapped up district competition yesterday. The boys’ team finished 5th in the team scoring and qualified 8 events to area meet next weekend at Seven Lakes High School. Junior Layne Allison won two district titles, winning 1st place in High Jump with a jump of 6’2”, and the Long Jump, jumping 22’3”. Other area qualifiers include: Steven Nixon, Jarrod Ballou, Dereck Iweh, Thomas Butterfield, Trevor Radomski, Ollie Norfleet, Tyler Fenske, and Blake Benner.

On the girls’ side, Senior Makenzie Smith won the district title in Shot Put with a distance of 39’6 ¾” and another district title in Discus with a distance of 109’8”. Sophomore Nevita George, Junior Steven Nixon and Freshman Kaitlyn Garza also qualified for the area meet.

The area meet will take place Thursday, April 17th at Seven Lakes high school.
