Katy ISD announced yesterday that a change in the Texas Department of Agriculture policy will require parents to present documentation if they pick up meals without the child present.

“Katy ISD partners with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) to provide free and reduced-cost meal services such as the ‘Grab and Go’ meals program for Katy children,” Katy ISD said in a statement. “Beginning March 31, 2020, the Nutrition and Food Services staff at all Katy ISD Grab and Go curbside locations will implement changes.”

If a child is not present, a parent must provide one of the following documents: official letter/email/electronic school application, student report card, student ID card, attendance records with student’s names, or birth certificate.
