The varsity cheer team scored high at the National Cheerleading Association Lone Star Classic competition on November 17, ultimately clean sweeping the competition and winning several other awards. The team won first place in all three Large Varsity competitions, Cheer, Band Chant, and Fight Song, as well as the Judges Award for their use of props in their band chant. They also were the first team in the history of the Lone Star Classic to win the Herkie High Point Award, given to the team that scores the highest points out of all the teams in the competition, for all three categories.
