Cougar fans will enjoy cheering and supporting the varsity football Thursday without the responsibility of completing homework after the game. Sept. 8 marks the first of six “Homework Free” days scheduled during the school year.

Students will be able to participate as players, supporters or spectators in Thursday night’s varsity football game against Memorial without having to worry about starting their homework at 11 pm. Tonight marks the first of six “Homework Free” evenings scheduled for students this school year.

“After the overwhelmingly positive response from our students and parents from our homework free days last spring, we will continue them again this year.  The plan is to offer one day each six weeks,” Principal James Cross announced in building communication earlier this month.

With three Thursday varsity games on the fall schedule, students and parents have voiced gratitude for the teaching staff’s willingness to offer a homework reprieve. The next “Homework Free” day is Thursday, Oct. 6.
