Varsity swim wins overall at district

After two days of fast swimming, the boys stand up on the podium and celebrate their success.

Swimming district was held Friday and Saturday, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, at Katy High School. The team won for combined points as a team. The boys won with 198 points and the girls placed second, below Seven Lakes by 3 points. Athletes and relays that placed in the top 6 places are eligible to compete at regional Friday and Saturday Feb. 7 and 8 at the University of Houston. The following athletes qualify to compete at region: Haylei Scoggins, Randi Doran, Kayla McDaniel, Arantza Barros, Glen Cowand, Kyle Nash, Chris Betts, Sarah Medellin, Tori Kroon, Erin Sutton, Kathryn Carson, Davidmichael Bernal, Alex Smilenov, Adam Aldirawi, Stuart Bayliss, Erik Fisher, Jamie Turlington, Ryan Reed, Kaitlyln Little, Sean Farestvedt,  Christian Rossi and Alcina Hung. Additionally, divers Jakob Norheim, Roman Garcia, Daniel Meza and Neil Doran will also compete at region. Lastly, Christie Patterson, varsity coach and history teacher, was awarded Coach of the Meet for girls and boys.
