African Student Association hosts book drive for charity organization

Brynne Herzfeld, Voice Editor

The African Student Association is hosting a book drive for Books for Africa (BFA), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing books for African communities. They accept both fiction and nonfiction books 15 years old or newer, textbooks published 2005 or later and school or office supplies. BFA asks for gently used books.

However, BFA will not accept books that are largely irrelevant to African readers, such as books regarding American history or magazines. Additionally, BFA will not accept murder mysteries or books containing words like “kill”, “die”, or “murder” in their titles, as many of these books are given to elementary-aged children.

Teachers interested in hosting a collection box in their room should contact English teacher Victoria Orepitan.
