Ranked among the best Southern Christian Universities, Baylor University prides itself in offering students a top-tier education and research opportunities while maintaining a basis in Christian morals. As the school’s mission statement says:

“The mission of Baylor University is to educate men and women for worldwide leadership and service by integrating academic excellence and Christian commitment within a caring community.”

Baylor is located in Waco, Texas, and through its 144 degree programs “prepares (students) for a path of excellence, discovery and achievement.” It offers several Honors programs with large scholarships available for students, and is ranked 54th best value in the nation by Kiplinger.

Essays: Short answers (250 words) as part of the application;

  • What are you looking for in a university?
  • Why do you want to attend Baylor University and how do you see yourself contributing to the Baylor community?

Teacher Recommendations: Recommended, but not required; “Students will be able to give us the names and email addresses of two recommenders and we will send them an electronic recommendation form to submit on your student’s behalf. If your student already has letters of recommendation that have been written, they can submit those electronically or by mail instead of using the electronic form.”

Resume: Recommended, but not required. Submit through goBaylor.

Test Scores: SAT or ACT + Writing. Send from College Board or ACT to the college, via your College Board/ACT account
