Video Production teacher and Global Vine sponsor Mike Marrie hosted a contest for teachers to win a free pair of Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiere tickets for the 7:30 PM showing tonight at Cinemark Theatre. In order to win the tickets, teachers had to send in their favorite quote from the movie, and Marrie drew from the quotes to choose the winners.

English teacher Bruce Hayes, ESOL teacher Maria Ventimilla, and Choir teacher Brian Miller were the three winners of the competitions. The winning quotes were:

“Why you stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf-herder!” – Princess Leia (Hayes)

#$=%_€&/^&%£¿” – Ewoks (Ventimilla)

“Aaararrgwwwh – Chewbacca (Miller)

It’s been ten years since the last movie, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, came out in theaters. Showings for the new movie start as early as 6:45 PM tonight and is expected to break multiple Box Office records.

“I loved finding out that I was not the only grownup Star Wars geek at Cinco Ranch,” Marrie said. “It was so funny to see what teachers chose. The three winners were great, but there were a few other quotes that made me laugh too.”
