CRyptonite Team 624 attended the F.I.R.S.T. Robotics Competition on Saturday March 1 and remained undefeated throughout the tournament.

The regional tournament was located in San Antonio and the team took first in qualifying matches. They then partnered with the NASA Team 118 from Clear Lake ISD and Team 3008 from Hawaii. The whole group did not lose any of their matches.

After working on their robot, Sidewinder, for six weeks the team received the Imagery Award and the Chairman’s Award. This is the first time Team 624 has been given the Chairman’s Award. They were also named the Regional Winner, which is the first time they have been named this in a Texas competition.

CRyptonite will be competing from March 13 to March 15 in Orlando, Florida in a regional tournament. Then they will be participating in the World Championship from April 23 to April 26 in St. Louis, Missouri.
